L.A. RIPTIDE ANNOUNCE 2007 MLL SCHEDULE

CARSON, CALIFORNIA - Tuesday, January 30, 2007 - The L.A. Riptide of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced its 2007 MLL Schedule. The Riptide will open the 2007 season on the road at the Chicago Machine on May 12 at Toyota Park. The Riptide's home opener will be May 27 against the New Jersey Pride at 7:00 pm at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University at Dominguez Hills. The Riptide will play a 12-game schedule with six home games and six games on the road.

\"We are very excited about the caliber of the games we will host this summer at The Home Depot Center,\" said G.W. Mix, L.A. Riptide General Manager. \"Three of our six home games will be against 2006 MLL playoff teams and our opening game against New Jersey features one of the sport's brightest new stars in midfielder Kyle Harrison.\"

The Riptide home schedule features five Saturday night contests and one Sunday evening game. The Riptide's longest home stretch of the season is three-game Western Conference showdown as the team hosts the Chicago Machine (6/23), San Francisco Dragons (6/30) and the Denver Outlaws (7/14). The team's longest road trip kicks of the season as the Riptide will play four of its first five games on the road against the Machine, Cannons, Outlaws and Dragons.

\"Coming off of a solid first year in the league, the second season of Major League Lacrosse in Los Angeles should be a great one for Riptide fans,\" added Mix. \"Our exciting home schedule, a stronger, more experienced team and evening game times, will be the perfect combination for a very entertaining summer.\"

Los Angeles will contest a total of nine games against Western Conference opponents - meaning that the Riptide will face the Chicago Machine, the Denver Outlaws and the San Francisco Dragons three times apiece. As for the teams in the Eastern Conference, the Riptide will play only three games against the Boston Cannons, New Jersey Pride and Washington Bayhawks.

\"The team is very excited about the 2007 schedule and the challenges we will face throughout the season,\" said second-year L.A. Riptide head coach John Tucker. \"In addition to our tough Western Conference opponents, we play two teams we did not see in 2006 with New Jersey and Washington. We also look forward to the opportunity the schedule affords us to avenge last year's loss to the Boston Cannons.\"

Los Angeles will close the regular season at home with a Western Conference match up against the Chicago Machine beginning at 4:00pm on August 11 at The Home Depot Center.

The Riptide will open training camp on Saturday, April 28. Training camp will run for three weekends leading up to Los Angeles' May 19 season opener. Camp sessions run Saturdays and Sundays and are open to the media and public.
