GALAXY-SOUNDERS MLS MATCH & GOLOVKIN VS. RUBIO MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHT SOLD-OUT WEEKEND AT STUBHUB CENTER

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014) – StubHub Center will host a sold-out weekend with two premier sporting events beginning Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. PT when Gennady “GGG” Golovkin faces Marco Rubio in the WBA/IBO Middleweight Championship live on HBO before the LA Galaxy face Seattle Sounders FC Sunday, Oct. 19 at 5:30 p.m. PT live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

Additional seating has been added to StubHub Center for both Saturday’s fight and Sunday’s game to accommodate the sold-out crowd.

Making his west-coast debut on Saturday, Golovkin will defend his world titles against WBC interim Middleweight title holder Marco Antonio. Golovkin enters the fight with a 30-0-0 record with 27 knockouts and faces Rubio, who holds a record of 59-6-1 with 51 knockouts. The match is Presented by K2 Promotions and GGG Promotions in association with Promociones Del Pueblo.

Tied at 60 points atop the MLS standings, the Galaxy and the Sounders face each other in the first of two consecutive matchups that will decide the 2014 MLS Supporters’ Shield winner. LA Galaxy will honor midfielder Landon Donovan, who is set to play in his final regular-season home match at StubHub Center.
