Dignity Health Sports Park to Host Downey Vs. Warren Football Game

CARSON, Calif. (August 18, 2025)– Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the six-time MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy and one of Southern California’s premier sports and entertainment venues, will welcome Downey High School and Warren High School for their annual rivalry football game on Friday, October 24, 2025. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

For the Downey Unified School District, the Downey vs. Warren matchup is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The annual crosstown rivalry brings together students, staff, alumni, families, and the community for a spirited night of football under the lights. Last year, the Warren Bears came out on top, but the Downey Vikings went on to capture the CIF Southern Section Division 4 championship, setting the stage for another high-energy showdown.

“This rivalry is special because it’s about so much more than football — it’s about community pride. Getting to showcase it at a professional stadium is an honor for both schools,” shared Jack Williams, head coach of Downey High School.

Adam Leonard, head coach of Warren High School, echoed the excitement. “This game is always circled on the calendar and playing it at a world-class venue like Dignity Health Sports Park will make the experience unforgettable for our players, families, and community.”

Located in Carson, Dignity Health Sports Park is a 125-acre complex that includes an 8,000-seat tennis stadium, a 27,000-seat soccer stadium, and a 2,000-seat track and field facility. As former host to the LA Chargers and a key venue for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, DHSP will provide a professional stage for the student-athletes of Downey and Warren to compete in front of thousands of fans.

“We’re proud to host the Downey vs. Warren rivalry at Dignity Health Sports Park, two incredible programs with passionate communities that deserve a big-stage experience,” said Adam Duvendeck, Assistant General Manager, Dignity Health Sports Park. “This game is about celebrating local pride, tradition, and the next generation of athletes right here in our backyard.”

Downey Unified Superintendent Dr. Roger Brossmer shared, “We’re thrilled to bring this long-standing tradition to another iconic venue. This is more than a football game…it’s a celebration of our students, schools, and community spirit.”

Tickets will be available through the AXS app beginning on Friday, August 22.  Follow Downey Unified and Dignity Health Sports Park on social media for more information on ticket prices and other important details.
