Dignity Health Sports Park to Host Free Spay and Neuter Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 26

Dignity Health Sports Park will host a clinic this Saturday, Sept. 26 to provide low-income pet owners in Los Angeles with high-quality spay, neuter and vaccine services free of charge. The clinic, hosted in conjunction with A Purposeful Rescue, Spay-4-LA and MaeDay Rescue, will run from 7:15 a.m. PT – 4 p.m. PT. All appointments for Saturday’s clinic have been filled.

During the pandemic, local shelters and other public services for low-income households have not been running at full capacity, making it difficult for pet owners to get the care they need for their pets. In the past, MaeDay has provided free spay and neuter to communities in Mexico but is staying in Los Angeles this year.

As all spots have been filled, those interested can also donate to help cover the cost of surgery and other services. Each spay/neuter costs about $125. Vaccines ($30) and microchips ($10) will also be covered for any pets getting a surgery that day. The general public can help sponsor a full surgery by donating $125 or donate $10 to ensure animals get microchips to keep them safe. Those interested in donating can click here or Venmo @MaeDayRescue.
