CARSON, Calif. (Friday, Nov. 20, 2015) The StubHub Center Foundation and LA Galaxy Foundation will host the 12th Annual Thanksgiving Foundations' Feast at StubHub Center¹s American Express Stadium Club on Monday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. PT. As part of the event, LA Galaxy players as well as staff from both the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center, United States Tennis Association (USTA), and StubHub Los Angeles locations will help serve a complete Thanksgiving meal to 250 local children and families in need through the LA Galaxy¹s 20 for Twenty community program.
An annual tradition at StubHub Center since 2003, this year¹s event will feature the serving of a full Thanksgiving buffet, including turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. Arts & crafts, activities, and gift bags will also be provided. This year, kids will also have the opportunity to participate in a Camp for Kids soccer clinic before dinner presented by StubHub at 2 p.m. PT at StubHub Center¹s Field 5.
The Foundations will host families from Los Angeles Children and Family Services, The Salvation Army Red Shield, Koinonia Family Services, El Nido Family Services, New Image Homeless Shelter, Elizabeth Learning Center, Children's Institute, Inc., Counseling4Kids, Trinity Youth Center, Casa Pacifica, and Casa Libre.
20 for Twenty is a year-long initiative featuring the implementation of 20 unique community service acts to celebrate the Galaxy¹s 20th season in Major League Soccer. The Galaxy has previously hosted a Build Day with Habitat of Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, participated in Read Across America, visited partner CHLA, worked with Heal the Bay to help clean Redondo Beach and hosted an volunteer impact day with the LA Regional Food Bank, among others. This year¹s Thanksgiving Foundations¹ Feast is made possible by donations from the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center, United States Soccer Federation (USSF), Ramp Tennis/First Break, Levy Restaurants, Coca-Cola, StubHub, McDonald's, Ralph's/Food 4 Less, Marie Callender's, Bulletproof Coffee, LAUSD Homeless Education Program, BF Construction and Bristol Farms.
The StubHub Center Foundation has partnered with The City of Carson Chamber of Commerce and will be collecting new unwrapped toys and books for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots and The City of Carson Sheriff Department Toy Drive during the 12th Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive starting December 1, 2015 through December 16, 2015. The toys will be delivered by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and City of Carson Sheriff Department to children in need, ages 2-13, in the city of Carson. All toy donations can be dropped off at the StubHub Center¹s main lobby on weekdays from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. PT.
