Camps for Kids 2014
LA GALAXY FOUNDATION AND STUBHUB CENTER FOUNDATION TEAM UP WITH STUBHUB TO HOST SIXTH ANNUAL ‘CAMPS FOR KIDS’ ON JULY 14 AND JULY 15
CARSON, CALIF. (Friday, July 11, 2014) – The StubHub Center Foundation, LA Galaxy Foundation, and StubHub will again partner on the Sixth Annual ‘Camps for Kids’ on July 14, 2014, and July 15, 2014 at the StubHub Center. StubHub has committed to a long-term partnership with the two charitable organizations. It’s our fight against childhood obesity.
LA Galaxy players will be in attendance to meet with children and help get them excited about the sport of soccer.
The camp will include training sessions for invited kids to participate in soccer drills including dribbling, passing and shooting. The LA Galaxy Academy staff will provide basic soccer instruction to the guests who will also receive gift bags complete with a soccer ball and other items to encourage kids to continue practicing at home.
Each child attending the camp will also receive tickets to the Galaxy – New England match on July 16 at StubHub Center.
Now in its sixth year, Camps for Kids is an opportunity for children ages 7-10 to participate in soccer drills and learn valuable fitness tips to fuel a healthy lifestyle. As an extension of StubHub’s charitable program Rising Stars, the company has committed to financially supporting the program for at least three years through an initial grant of $30,000. The staff volunteers from the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center and StubHub Los Angeles offices will also be on hand to help out with the camps.
The following youth organizations will be participating in the two day camps: The Carson Parks and Recreation, Los Angeles Parks and Recreation, Compton Parks and Recreation, Blue Star Families, Los Angeles Family Services, Salvation Army Red Shield, and YMCA Gardena-Carson, among others.
